Winter Handicaps
Each Winter we run a Handicap series for members on a Monday club night. The races are run on a handicap system with the slowest runners going off first working through to the fastest runners at 20 secs intervals. The idea being all the runners finish at the same time. The Races are run on a 2 lap course of approximately 2.2 miles. There are 4 races ending with a final race with the first runner across the line the winner and the Winter Handicap champion.

Winter Handicap – Event 3 - 16 Jan 12
A record 67 runners finished the 3rd of this seasons Winter Time Trial, a fantastic effort. And with 20 Seasons best times it is further evidence that the club is moving forward and the rate of improvement is a testament to the hard work put in by all members and the coaches.
So to this event, and performances. For the ladies Amy Dungar, running her first Time Trial came home in a quick 14:37 and Oli Milk with 12:50. Star of the month for the second time is Jo Jesney, who continues her mesmeric improvement knocking 21 seconds off her November time and a 45 second improvement on her October time.
The last qualifying event will be run on Monday 13 Feb 12. A reminder that if you have only run in one of these events you need to register a time in this event to qualify for the final.
Dates for the remaining Winter Handicap runs are:
13 Feb 12 and the final is on 12 Mar 12.
Runners must complete a minimum of two races to be able to enter the final race
