Wymondham AC, originally known as Wymondham Joggers, was formed in the late 1970s and has been growing steadily ever since. Currently our membership stands at over 150 members to include a range of abilities and age groups. We are predominately a road running club participating in road running races, off-road/trail and also support the local Cross Country leagues. We welcome runners of all abilities from beginner to advanced and pride ourselves with helping you achieve your running aims and goals in a supportive and friendly environment.
We have a well-organised coaching structure within the Club offering several training sessions for ability, speed and distances. We meet on a Monday evening from 6.30pm at the Rugby Club on Tuttles Lane. Notices are at 6.45pm, with training sessions starting at 7.00pm for approximately an hour. We always finish off the evening with a cup of tea and a biscuit.
The Club is a member of Norfolk County AAA and is affiliated to SEAA and UK Athletics. The affiliation of the Club to these organisations ensures that we are kept advised of all news and events concerning the running and administration of the Athletics governing bodies. Benefits of affiliation to these organisations include insurance coverage on organised club training and a reduction of race fees when entering an affiliated race.
Wymondham AC is also a member of the Norfolk Athletics Network. Being a participating member of the Network provides a platform for local clubs and non-athletic organisations to work together supporting its members and coaches to improve community opportunities, share best practice and raising standards. Wymondham AC is delighted that PILCH Sports Specialists in Norwich are a sponsor of the Club. At our New Year’s Day 10k and Spring 20 Mile races, PILCH are always present at the Race HQ with sports merchandise offering discounts to all runners who make purchases on the day.
